Guadalajara is projected as the capital of creative industries

Guadalajara, Jal. With the attraction of new investments and the expansion of projects already established in the city, Guadalajara is on the way to consolidating itself as the “Capital of the creative industries of Latin America”, the president of the Ciudad Creativa Digital Trust (CCD) told El Economista , Antonio Salazar Gómez.

Currently, he indicated, the CCD complex located in the first square of the Jalisco capital, has 10 companies in the sector that in the last two years have invested 60 million pesos in technological infrastructure and have generated 500 direct jobs, but being companies Tractors are attracting other companies to provide them with services.

“We have, for example, Amber, which is a video game company from Romania and has 200 employees. We have just been with the CEO of Amber who came a few days ago with the entire first level of the company to do their annual operations meeting here. They aim to grow 100% by 2022; that is, another 200 employees ”, he confirmed.

Promotion

Contrary to what happened with other sectors that were affected by the pandemic, the creative industries reported growth due to the suspension of work, educational and recreational activities, as well as mandatory confinement around the world, caused an increase in the demand for content on both entertainment platforms and videogames.

Taking advantage of this growth, CCD intensified its promotion to attract more companies to the creative complex, mainly from the video game, animation and visual effects sectors, as well as the academic part to consolidate the ecosystem.

“Of the companies we are talking with, there is one with a real interest already talking about space; There is a company that is dedicated to the audiovisual sector, another that is a studio that makes audio for video games and a company that is dedicated to animation, they bring a contract with Netflix to make a movie and that will generate an expansion and now we have reserved a space for them ”, underlined the president of the trust.

There is another company that is dedicated to eSports, this new gaming or video game sector that is interested in joining us, “he said.

Currently, the PISA Laboratories Software Design and Development Center is established in the CCD complex; Amber, the Romanian-owned video game developer; Demente Animation, animation and visual effects studio; Creativity Hub, physical space for the incubation and acceleration of projects in the audiovisual industry.

There is also Ffframe, a consortium for the development of visual effects; Ool Digital, an effect specialized in visual effects; Mango Films, producer of commercials and live action scenes; Seedbed, sound engineering and development studio, among others.
