The Gordie Howe International Bridge project was recently recognized by winning multiple awards from a nonprofit across Canada that represents infrastructure construction and innovation through digital technology.

CanBIM named AECOM, Windsor-Detroit Bridge Project Partner, Winner of Three Awards. The Gordie Howe project was recognized by capturing the Design and Engineering Award, Global Envoy Award, and Best Innovation Award during a virtual online ceremony.

The Howe Bridge project, which is scheduled to open to traffic in late 2024, includes a new six-lane cable-stayed bridge, plazas on both sides of the border, and a new three-kilometer minor highway to link to I-75 at Detroit. Once completed, the bridge will be the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America.

The CanBIM Awards annually recognize projects that demonstrate leadership and innovation through the implementation of digital technologies and methodologies.
