Giant Menorah lit for Hanukkah

Article content

Members of the local Jewish community gathered Sunday in Jackson Park for the annual lighting of an eight-foot menorah.

The gathering was held on the first day of Hanukkah. Rabbi Sholom Galperin noted that this was the twelfth annual lighting of the great menorah.

In recent years, the ceremony was held at Devonshire Mall, but due to crowd concerns related to the pandemic, it was moved outdoors.
