Fovissste detects alleged fraud of Sofom of Chihuahuan deputy

The Issste Housing Fund (Fovissste), led by Agustín Rodríguez López, detected an alleged fraud for 68 million pesos executed by the Chihuahua multi-purpose financial company (Sofom) Soluciones Emprendedoras del Norte (Sensa), headed by Abraham Bazán Flores and Omar Bazán Flores, deputy of the Chihuahua Congress.

According to the Fund, the agency detected inconsistencies in at least 84 credits originated by Sensa, charged to Fovissste, from October to November of this year, which were liquidated to beneficiaries other than the bidders or sellers of living place.

“Sensa uploaded data from incorrect bidders, which resulted in the payment of the loan having a different destination than it should have, an action that even this financial entity acknowledged in a letter addressed to Fovissste,” the fund explained in an informative note.

The Fovissste relies on sofomes so that they advise the beneficiary during the credit process at no cost and they act on behalf of the Fund from the moment the home is chosen, the deed is signed, the file is integrated for review and is make the payment to the seller of the property.

In this context, the Fund found that Sensa paid credits to people other than the housing providers, so on November 23 of this year, he filed a complaint with the Ministry of Public Administration.

Likewise, on December 6, the legal team of the Fovissste He presented a complaint for fraud against this sofom before the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City, which was settled with the investigation folder CI-FIAO / UATAO-4 / UI-1 S / D01938 / 12-2021.

“The procedure for repairing property damage to Fovissste began by claiming the bond required from financial entities in favor of the Executive Commission of the Issste Housing Fund,” the agency detailed.

According to the registry of the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Users of Financial Services (Condusef), Sensa was registered with this authority since 2007 and its fiscal domicile is in Chihuahua, Chihuahua. The president of the Board of Directors, as well as its general director, is the local deputy Omar Bazán Flores and his legal representative is Abraham Bazán Flores.

Condusef’s information on this entity was validated by Sensa on October 3 of this year.

Fovissste specified that Sensa’s access codes to the fund’s origination system were canceled, all payments were suspended, and the contract with this financial entity is being terminated.

“While the legal situation is resolved, the Housing Fund will suspend the discounts via payroll to the affected borrowers, in addition to advising and informing them regarding the process in which their mortgage financing is found through personalized attention,” said the Fovissste.

The mortgage agency stressed that it will give continuity to the criminal complaint filed and the recovery of the bond in order to repair the patrimonial damage and assured that it will strengthen its control mechanisms that allow shielding the processes for the origination of its credits.
