Four Canadiens’ January home games at Bell Center postponed by NHL

The NHL announced Tuesday that due to current attendance restrictions in Canada, nine games have been postponed, including four Canadiens games at the Bell Center.

The Canadiens’ games at the Bell Center against the Washington Capitals on January 4, the Toronto Maple Leafs on January 6, the Buffalo Sabers on January 8 and the Columbus Blue Jackets on January 10 have been postponed. Payback dates for those games have yet to be set.

In addition, the game between the Canadiens and the Bruins that was scheduled for January 12 at the Bell Center will now be played at the TD Garden in Boston. The recovery date for the Canadiens’ home game against the Bruins will be announced at a later date.

The Canadiens’ last home game was on December 16 when they defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 in a shootout. No fans were allowed in the Bell Center due to COVID-19 concerns.
