A former pastor of a Hamilton Baptist church faces a child pornography charge.
Joshua David Conroy, 46, of Hamilton, was arrested Wednesday, November 17. He is charged with possession of child pornography.
Conroy is a former pastor of Elliott Heights Baptist Church on Fennell Avenue East, west of Mountain Brow Boulevard.
Hamilton police said the investigation began in August 2021 when they received a cybertip from the Canadian Center for Child Protection.
During the investigation, the police seized computing devices which were examined.
Conroy had stopped working at the church prior to the alleged incident.
The investigation continues.
