A little over a month ago I received a message from the German telephone company in which before the move I had contracted the landline number and an email. They warned me that, by unsubscribing from their services, they would proceed shortly to close and delete my mailbox and, with it, all the content. They gave me time to rescue what I wanted to keep and offered me the option of hiring a service to keep them all. Like a kind of furniture repository, but for emails.
