Flin Flon Murder Suspect Faces Murder Charge After Large-Scale Search on New Years Day | The Canadian News

The RCMP has filed charges in connection with a homicide in Flin Flon after a large-scale search for a suspect that lasted much of New Year’s Day.

Officers responded to two shootings Saturday morning within an hour of each other, one outside a community room in Creighton, Saskatchewan, shortly after midnight, and another in Flin Flon, at a residence on Bellevue Avenue, right after 1 am.

A 24-year-old man was shot in Creighton and taken to hospital in stable condition, while in Flin Flon, a 47-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were shot, and the woman died of their injuries.

Police determined the incidents were linked and searched the two areas extensively during the day until they encountered the suspect, 18-year-old Xander Tardiff, on Saturday night and he was arrested.

He now faces one count of second-degree murder along with multiple firearms charges.
