Fira de Barcelona opens its doors to ‘The City of Fun’

The Fira de Barcelona has opened this Monday the doors to ‘La Ciutat de la Diversió’, a special edition of ‘The City of Dreams’ (former Children’s Festival) adapted to the pandemic that will be held until December 31 in the open air and free of charge.

As reported by the Barcelona City Council in a statement, The objective of the festival is to offer the neighborhoods around the Montjuïc fairgrounds and the whole city a space for family leisure this Christmas.

Total, ‘The City of Fun’, which is designed for boys and girls between 5 and 12 years old, occupies a space of 6,000 square meters that will have about twenty activities divided into four large areas: multisport space, mobility space, games space and cultural space.

The multisport space has more than 2,000 square meters of surface and It has four courts for basketball, tennis, an artificial turf sports center that will host football, hockey and rugby matches, and a space where other sports and games will take place.

The cultural space has creativity as its main thematic axis, and includes a stage for shows, as well as spaces for circus workshops and ‘Stencil Pop Art’ (Pop Art Template), where children, for example, they will be able to design and print posters of their favorite artists.

The last of the spaces of ‘La Ciutat de la Diversió’ serves to publicize the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, increase awareness of the importance of recycling, and teach the most basic notions of the circular economy.
