Financial inclusion: data on the use of credit by women


In Mexico, women request more informal loans than men, 65% have requested a loan from family, friends or acquaintances, according to figures from the ENIGH 2019.

The Credit cards offered by department stores, compared to those issued by banks, are also more common in women; Additionally, they also contract more group loans than men.

These figures reflect the need to introduce the gender perspective in policies related to financial inclusion.
