Between stops in Toronto and Las Vegas, world famous Dutch DJ Tiesto will take the stage at Caesars Windsor for a pyrotechnics-filled show on Canada Day.

“He’s the biggest artist in the world when it comes to electronic music, there’s no question about it,” said event organizer Renaldo Agostino, who made the announcement Monday from the stage of The Colosseum at Caesars.

“He’s the pioneer. He’s the Grammy Award winner. His accomplishments of him are just massive. Whether it’s the Olympic Games, Electric Daisy Carnival (in Las Vegas), this guy only plays the biggest and the best cities. So to have him here in Windsor is a real statement for our community.”

The show, organized by Agostino’s Element Entertainment, LiUNA! Yunity and Caesars Windsor, begins at 8 pm on July 1.

Tickets, starting at $53, go on sale to the general public on Friday. But there’s a Windsor pre-sale on Ticketmaster starting at 10 am Tuesday. The password is Canada. Tickets will also be available at the Caesars Windsor box office.

The Colosseum floor seats will be removed to make way for a dance area in front of the stage. There will also be a VIP section on the floor. VIP tickets include an after-party at Turbo Espresso Bar.

Tiesto last played in Windsor during a couple of sold out shows at the former Boom Boom Room in 2011.

Agostino, a fixture of Windsor’s club scene, said he’s been trying to get Tiesto onto the Caesars stage for about 13 years. Scheduling conflicts, and then COVID-19, kept getting in the way. He said the show has been postponed three times in three years.
