Online articles claim that recipients of Covid-19 booster shots will develop acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). But medical experts rejected the claim, saying there is no evidence that Covid-19 vaccines can cause the life-threatening, chronic condition.

“Millions get AIDS from Vax in Fall: Dr. Elizabeth Eads,” reads the headline of a March 23, 2022 Article at USAWatchdog.com.

When asked if Covid-19 vaccines are injecting people with AIDS, Dr. Eads is quoted as saying, “That’s exactly what I’m telling you.”

Other Article also makes the claim and identifies Eads as “one of America’s frontline physicians,” a group notorious for spreading misinformation about health.

TO organization website search did not disclose references to Eads, but previously made a similar false claim about injections causing immune erosion: “Vaccine-acquired immunodeficiency (VAIDs)”.

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) passed on March 29, a fourth dose of the Pfizer and Moderna Covid-19 vaccines for Americans age 50 and older, and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) say certain immunocompromised people may receive one fifth shot.

Below, AFP Fact Check breaks down the claims.

The USAWatchdog article includes a length of 53 minutes rumble video in which “25-year veteran Dr. Elizabeth Eads” is interviewed about “the unreported real effects of CV19 bioweapons and the dangerous lies of Big Pharma, the FDA, and the CDC.”

“Yes, we are seeing vaccine-related acquired immunodeficiency in the hospital now, from the triple vax,” Eads says in the video, calling the phenomenon an “immune collapse calamity” and a third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.” fatal shot.”

She goes on to say that covid-19 vaccines are a “spike lentivirus…composed of HIV and AIDS,” citing an unspecified Stanford University study for the claim.

Stanford Associate Professor of Pathology Scott Boyd He said no university research supports Eads’ claims. “I think they’re completely inaccurate, they don’t make sense,” he said of his statement.

EADSwho practices family medicine in Florida, seems to have a active osteopathic physician licenseaccording to the Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine, although his license was suspended in 2005 after the board found he had not completed enough continuing medical education courses.

She is listed by the Florida Department of Health associated with area hospitals, including Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach and AdventHealth Daytona Beach.

‘Garbage Science’

AIDS, caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), devastated and stigmatized the gay community and terrorized much of the world during the 1980s and 1990s. Medicine can now slow or prevent the progression of the disease. If left untreated, people with AIDS “typically survive about three years,” According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

HIV can be transmitted through blood, semen, precum, rectal or vaginal fluids, and breast milk. Most people get it through anal or vaginal sex, or by sharing drug injection equipment, such as needles or syringes, the CDC says.

Virologist at Tufts University School of Medicine john’s coffin addressed the claim that vaccination against Covid-19 causes AIDS. “To be blunt, this is trash science-based fearmongering at its most egregious,” she said.

Ambrose ZandreaAn HIV expert and associate professor of infectious diseases at the University of Pittsburgh, he dismissed Eads’ claim about vaccines against covid-19 and lentiviruses, a class of retroviruses that includes HIV.

“None of the approved Covid-19 vaccines in the US or other countries use lentivirus vectors or lentivirus components,” he said.

The French non-profit Institut Pasteur has mentioned a nasal Covid-19 vaccine candidate that uses a lentivirus as a “vector”, but is not on the market to date. A viral vector vaccine, the traditional injection format, contains a harmless version of a virus.

Professor of Public Health at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Olveen Carrasquillo he explained that the evidence does not support Eads’ claims. “I have a feeling this is all part of an ongoing misinformation campaign that we’ve seen during the epidemic,” the doctor said.

His colleague, professor of pathology ronald derosiersHe also rejected the claims, calling them “Absolute nonsense. Absolutely CRAZY!”

AIDS is only caused by the HIV virus, Carrasquillo said. Ambrose agreed, saying, “AIDS does not refer to immunodeficiencies from other causes.”

Waning immunity to immune system damage

The doctors also said that the covid-19 vaccines do not harm the immune system.

“On the contrary, there is overwhelming scientific evidence that vaccines help the body’s immune system provide excellent protection against covid,” Carrasquillo said.

Ambrose added: “Usually the concern is with people who are immunocompromised, who may not mount a robust immune response to the vaccine (or any vaccine), but that is due to their underlying condition and not the vaccine itself.”

In the Eads video, the interviewer quotes a Article by Daily Expose, a website that has previously spread inaccurate health information. “UK government quietly released data confirming triple vaccinates are just weeks away from developing acquired immunodeficiency syndrome,” reads the article’s headline.

He then argues that because the effectiveness of Covid-19 vaccines has been shown to decline over time, hence the need for booster shots, this means that the immune systems of individual recipients are failing. appointment UK public health data as alleged proof of the claim.

A spokesman for the UK Health Security Agency told AFP: “The claim is inaccurate. AIDS is caused by the HIV virus.”

Coffin described the article’s argument as a “numerical sleight of hand”, saying that they “make it sound like something much more sinister, and then take a completely unwarranted leap of ‘logic'”.

A previous exhibition ArticleTitled “Official German Government Data Suggests Fully Vaccinated People Will Develop Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome by the End of January 2022,” it takes a similar tack.

However, the federal health agency from which the data was taken, the Robert Koch Institutetold AFP that the German report he refers to does not mention AIDS at all.

J&J Side Effects

Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine has been linked to Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare autoimmune disorder, but other vaccines have not.

However, the FDA says that the chances of developing the disease after vaccination are “very lowand the CDC says that “in most situations, Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are preferred over J&J/Janssen’s COVID-19 vaccine for primary and booster vaccination due to the risk of serious adverse events.”
