Faced with new modalities at work, it is necessary to review their incorporation into the IMSS: STPS

Luisa Maria Mayor LujanSecretary of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) stated that it is time to “rethink” how the new work modalities can be incorporated into the social security granted by the Mexican Social Security Institute and that currently it is necessary that there be a pattern in between.

By participating in the Social Security Weekorganized by the Senate of the Republic, Mayor Luján explained that self-employment is a new modality that must be analyzed by all sectors to grant those who see in this form of work a way of employing themselves, social security.

“We have already talked about self-employment, there is a third of the informal sector, in which there are young people and women who work on their own and who are not protected. What happens to their motherhood? And if they have an illness, who protects them? And when their productive life is over, how can they retire? ”, She exposed during her participation.

The head of the job announced that it is time to rethink all the work modalities that are experienced today, “it is no longer just that employment relationship with a single boss, a single employer, a single stable workplace. There are already several work modalities that must be incorporated into the IMSS, having social security is a right that we must have”.
