Expansion of the river lights exhibit in Amherstburg

At the urging of many residents and some local businesses, the River Lights holiday display in Amherstburg will continue to run through the end of January, the city announced.

The annual display of lights at King’s Navy Yard Park was scheduled to end on January 3, but a group of local residents requested that it be extended until the end of this month.

The costs to continue the light display have been described as “minimal” by city officials, but will also be supported by sponsors who have agreed to help provide some funding to extend the display.
