Evergrande manages to raise 143 million dollars before the deadline for the payment of the bond

The Chinese real estate group Evergrande, heavily in debt, managed to raise 124 million euros (143 million dollars) by selling a stake in a company of Internet services, days before the deadline for the interest payment, according to stock market data.

Evergrande managed to sell a 5.7% stake for a total of $ 1.12 billion of Hong Kong (124 million euros) in HengTen Networks Group, according to the data published by the stock exchange Hong Kong, where the group is listed.

Evergrande faces the end of a one-month grace period on Wednesday for the bonus payment in dollars, worth 128 million euros.

The group, deeply in debt, has been looking for a way to get rid of its assets for several months to get afloat.

The company, whose debt is estimated at 260,000 million euros, is one of the largest real estate developers in China.
