The European Commission (EC) proposed this Thursday limit the validity of the covid digital certificate to 9 months and continue to adhere to measures aimed at curbing the spread of the virus, including the use of masks, given the increase in infections.
The European Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders, explained at a press conference the details of the new Brussels recommendations regarding travel within the EU. Reynders valued the usefulness of the covid digital certificate and indicated that Brussels “proposes to extend it beyond next summer as a measure to facilitate safe free movement.”
