Essex County OPP are asking for help to track down a man who has been “tiptoeing” onto people’s properties and peering through their windows.

Police issued a media release on Tuesday, though the incidents began weeks ago.

The Essex detachment received the first call around 10:35 pm on June 2. A woman on Cameron Avenue in Essex said her security cameras showed a man looking through her window. By the time officers arrived, the man had disappeared.

Provincial police in Tecumseh received a similar call on June 12 at 11:03 pm A homeowner on County Road 34 reported that he had scared off a man looking into his front window. Police said security footage shows the person “tiptoeing” across the man’s porch and looking through the window before being run off.

Police said the man is white with brown hair. He was wearing glasses, a light-coloured Nike tank top, and dark-coloured shorts with a stripe running down the side.

Police are also reminding people to be sure their doors and windows are secured, and the blinds or curtains are closed at night.
