Kingsville OPP officers along with Essex-Windsor EMS and Kingsville firefighters responded Monday night, around 6 p.m., to the scene of an accident on Road 2 East.

Both the driver of the pickup truck and the operator of the farm tractor were taken to hospital for treatment for injuries. His injuries were not considered life threatening.

The collision remains under investigation, but the Essex County OPP notes that more and more local farmers are working at multiple sites, increasing the chances that farm vehicles will be on the road throughout the region.

“With the harvest season upon us, you can expect to find farm equipment on the road as you drive through Essex County,” OPP warned in a statement.

All motorists are advised to recognize slow moving vehicles, marked with an orange triangle symbol. Agricultural vehicles with this symbol often move at speeds of 35 km / h or less. Other drivers should slow down around farm machinery and be prepared to stop.
