Environment Canada has issued a special weather alert for this region for Sunday afternoon and into the evening hours.
It is anticipated there will be isolated strong wind gusts associated with thunderstorms later today for the Windsor and Essex County area.
Isolated thunderstorms are being forecast to move across the area late this afternoon and early into this evening. While the thunderstorms are not expected to be particularly strong, isolated wind likes up to 70 or 80 km/h will be possible, the agency said.
Local power outages may occur, as well as some damage to tree branches.
