Elon Musk’s 18-year-old son has filed court papers seeking to legally change his gender from male to female and lose his surname, stating: ‘I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape, or form.’
Xavier Musk, 18, filed paperwork in Santa Monica, California on April 18, seeking to be known as Vivian Jenna Wilson. The transgender teen explained that she wants to take her mother’s last name to distance herself from her father.
He has not commented on whether he receives financial support from his father, whose $213 billion fortune makes him the world’s richest man, and whether his disgust at his antics extends to refusing more handouts.
Musk has been married to Vivian’s mother, Canadian author Justine Wilson, since 2008.
She gave birth to a son, Nevada, in 2002 who died after 10 days from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
She then had twin sons, Xavier and Griffin, and triplets: Damian, Kai and Saxon, who are now 16 years old.

Musk has been publicly disowned by his eldest son, who no longer wishes to be associated with him “in any way, shape or form.”

The five teens have kept a fairly low profile, despite their father having joint custody.
It is not clear what is behind Vivian’s rejection of her father, in such a public way. Musk has yet to comment, and it’s unclear if he was aware of Vivian’s plan before the court papers were filed.
Musk, 50, has come under fire in recent months for comments some say were transphobic.
He complained about people using their own pronouns, prompting Chasten Buttigieg, the husband of transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg, to respond: ‘I hear your frustration, honey. See you after class and we can go over the worksheet again.’
He said he was a fan of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has been condemned by the LGBTQ community for his so-called ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, which prevents discussion of gender identity and homosexuality in young children’s classrooms. .
Last week, in response to an article discussing whether the question “What is a woman?” was legitimate, Musk tweeted: “At the same time, we are being told that gender differences do not exist and genders are so profoundly different that irreversible surgery is the only option.” .
