‘El Periódico’ shares the experience of solidarity at sea with Open Arms

In its policy of transparency and social commitment, the oenegé Open Arms has as a rule to embark journalists on their missions to rescue immigrants in the Central mediterranean. The editor Ricardo Mir from France shared about ten days of coexistence in the Astral to give a first-hand account of the enormous work of the humanitarian organization led by Oscar Camps.

There was everything in the crossing; inclement weather, damage to the boat and, finally, the satisfaction of being able to help people who, in a precarious boat, were trying to reach the Italian coasts after leaving Libya. Everything explained in Ricardo Mir’s logbook.
