As of 9 am, it’s -14 C at the Edmonton Blatchford station with 4 km/h winds coming out of the south, southwest making it feel like -16.

I’m no different than my colleagues when I complain that March feels like the longest month of the year. I’m completely over winter and 100 per cent ready for spring.

The dump of snow this week was more than I expected and I’m still feeling the strain on my back from shoveling.

But waking up this morning to the feathery frost reminds me that winter in Alberta can sometimes hold a special kind of beauty. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m still ready for spring.
