City police are asking for CCTV and doorbell footage after a sexual assault on an elderly woman in a northeast Edmonton neighborhood.

On Monday, Edmonton police responded to a report of sexual assault in the area of ​​121 Avenue and 61 Street in the Montrose neighborhood. Police were informed that sometime between 5:30 pm and 6 pm, a man rang the bell on the woman’s door, forced himself inside and committed a sexual assault.

The suspect was unknown to the woman.

The man is believed to be between 45 and 60 years old, standing at about five foot three and weighing 190 pounds. He had a dark beard on his face and at the time he was wearing glasses, a blue jacket, dark pants, and a black hat.

Investigators are asking residents who live between 60th and 63rd streets and 120th and 122nd avenues to check the doorbell and CCTV footage between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday for any suspicious activity or any person matching the suspect’s description.
