A high school on the eastern edge of Montreal was closed on Friday after the administration learned of an online threat made against it the night before.

Dunton Academy on Boucherville St. was closed as a precaution after Montreal police were contacted.

Police said they have traced the source of the threat and are investigating.

Friday’s school closure comes just over two weeks after an online threat forced the evacuation of Heritage High School in Longueuil’s St-Hubert district. In that case, police said the threat originated with a minor who did not attend school and would face a mischief charge.
