Due to the absence of institutions, they cancel the SNA session

Despite the fact that for more than a week they were summoned to session, the representatives of the institutions that make up the Coordinating Committee of the National Anticorruption System (SNA), decided not to attend the session scheduled for this Thursday.

The Executive Secretariat of the SNA, headed by the Technical Secretary, Ricardo Salgado Perrilliat, announced that due to the lack of a quorum, it was not possible to hold the second ordinary session of the Committee, despite the fact that it was convened since last April 12 , according to the schedule of sessions approved by said committee in its previous session.

And it is that Blanca Lilia Ibarra Cadena, commissioner president of the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI); María de la Luz Mijangos Borja, head of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Corruption; David Rogelio Colmenares Páramo, head of the Superior Audit Office of the Federation, and Roberto Salcedo Aquino, head of the Ministry of Public Administration, decided not to attend the virtual meeting, so it had to be rescheduled.

This is the first time, in five years, that a session of the coordinating committee of the SNA is not held due to the absence of the majority of its members.

Matters to be discussed

In addition to that it would be the first session chaired by Francisco Raúl Álvarez Córdoba, who became president of the Coordinating Committee of the SNA last February.

The session had scheduled the presentation of the Impact Assessment report on the non-binding Recommendation addressed to the Executive and Legislative powers of the states, related to the selection of judges and magistrates.

In addition to the advances of the Executive Secretariat of the SNA in the development of the National Digital Platform; a report from the National Control System, among other documents, which included a balance on the institutions that have not been connected to the National Digital Platform, where it would be mentioned that the FGR is the only one that, being part of the Coordinating Committee of the system, through the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, has ignored the calls to connect.
