Duck caught

I never tire of repeating this Buddhist saying that in this life the only permanent thing is change. Wise words and if you do not ask Lozoya, who went from the Cantonese duck to the captured duck in a two-by-three. The self-destructive display of their impunity could not end well.

Since his arrest in Malaga, Spain, in June of the unforgettable 2020, until today when the former director of PEMEX sleeps in the North Prison, he had never been seen or photographed, except that dinner in Hunan in which he was recorded by Lourdes Mendoza. Having assumed himself as a confessed criminal and accepting to have committed acts of corruption in complicity with other high officials, opened up what is now known as a window of opportunity to betray others and enjoy a comfortable house arrest.

And there we had him living like a prince, enjoying the millions of dollars that were still in his possession (they just realized that at least two million dollars is still at his disposal!) And shamelessly dining out at restaurants. (as my grandmother would say) posh.

The most terrible thing about all this is that if it weren’t for the audacity of the journalist Lourdes Mendoza and her revealing photos, we would never have found out (and neither would the prosecution?) That Don Emilio felt more than protected and sheltered by the 4T and walked in and out of his house as he pleased.

But… his hand went out of his way and that elegant Chinese dinner became a popular clamor that simply demanded a floor, even if it was half even, in the application of the law.

And thus, the emblematic character that allowed the current administration to boast of its frontal fight against corruption, the former Peña official who had offered to expose his powerful accomplices of the past administration before the eyes of Mexico and the world, has now collapsed.

In 13 months, Lozoya was unable to prove his accusations against more than 70 people (politicians, legislators, businessmen, etc.), in his opinion, involved in the Odebrecht case. In addition, it was denied with evidence in hand by the persecuted Ricardo Anaya and still, despite these failures, he hoped that he would be granted 60 more days to continue “gathering evidence.”

In a hearing of almost six hours, the pressured FGR was forced by public opinion to subject Don Emilio to preventive detention since throughout this process he has not had or expressed any intention of repairing the damage caused to the treasury of our country by almost eight million dollars.

Total, that the legal situation of this man looks very complicated. Many lawyers calculate that for the penalties she faces, she could reach 30 years in prison and to finish grinding her: the evidence that she offered to implicate others does not appear anywhere.

In short, the unconscious at the end of the day always wins and betrays. As a psychologist I cannot fail to mention the self-destructive and / or worse, sociopathic traits of the former chop suey fanatic. Doing a duckling analysis (but Cantonese) it seems that Emilio Lozoya was urged to sabotage himself, show his shamelessness and fight to receive what he knows will be a deserved punishment.

The expiation of their guilt that yes, they are accompanied by the collapse of that fantasy cherished by many Mexicans that corruption had come to an end with AMLO. Shenanigans of stubborn reality that never gives up.
