Drummondville: a sexagenarian between life and death after being the victim of a fire

A 60-year-old woman finds herself between life and death after a fire broke out in her apartment building in the Saint-Nicéphore district of Drummondville, in the Centre-du-Québec region.

Around 2:10 a.m., police officers from the Sûreté du Québec were called for reinforcements to the site of the blaze, which was quickly brought under control. When the scene was evacuated, only a couple were among the injured. They were both transported to a hospital.

“The man, in his 70s, escaped with minor injuries. As for the lady, she is still in critical condition,” said Hélène Saint-Pierre, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The investigation is now in the hands of the SQ’s major crimes squad. A reconstructionist went to the scene to better understand the circumstances of the incident.
