Distance learning of the Totalplay business unit will contribute to reducing the educational gap in Mexico

Mexico City, June 17, 2022.– On the 25th anniversary of Fundación Azteca de Grupo Salinas, the Symposium Re-thinking Education was held, where the main challenges facing education in Mexico were discussed, and how technology and the development of skills of the future, they are encouraging more talented young people to forge themselves as successful professionals and leaders. During the event, the work of the professors of the different Grupo Salinas Foundation Azteca campuses was also recognized, as they have been a key part of the students’ training.

Today, a significant educational gap remains latent in the face of limited access to technology, and that is that, according to a CONEVAL report, of more than 226,000 public schools in the country, only 66% have electricity, and only 22% has internet. In addition to this problem, there is also school dropout caused mainly by inequality in the possibility of access to the different available resources.

Responding to this need, the Distance Learning solution was presented, promoted by the Education Sector of the Totalplay business unit, which supports more schools in the public and private sectors to have the capacity to implement training solutions for the digital age, offering a valuable educational offer, this time with the ease of a quality remote or hybrid model.

This technological solution improves the learning experience with a system adaptable to the needs of schools and universities, facilitating interaction thanks to the integration of different videoconferencing systems, digital libraries, content curation, school administration, among others. The main features of this solution include the following:

  1. Training for teachers: Includes content that helps teachers easily adapt to using the solution.
  1. Learning experience: teaching is taken to the next level, transforming it into a concentrating platform of knowledge and experiences.
  2. Content Curation. It supports institutions to develop their own content and to generate collaborative experiences with other institutions at a global level, thus creating significant experiences for the members of educational networks.

“For us, contributing to reduce technological and educational gaps motivates us. We are a technology company close to social issues and today we are proud to say that we are contributing to the development of the talent of the future. With this implementation, education wins, but above all, Mexico wins”, explained Héctor Nava, General Director of the business unit and government of Totalplay.

The technological solution, Distance Learning, is an important part of the great work carried out by Grupo Salinas’ Fundación Azteca campuses, classrooms that transform education by offering complementary knowledge based on the skills of the future, and that help more students to face to an increasingly competitive work environment.
