Despite negative April, Jalisco was the second largest generator of employment in the first four months

Guadalajara, Jalisco. Despite the fact that during last April Jalisco had a reduction of 2,061 formal jobs, due to the seasonal slowdown of Holy Week, at the end of the four-month period January-April 2022, 34,716 new jobs were created in the entity, with which the state was located in second place nationally with the largest generation of jobs, only after Nuevo León.

The General Strategic Coordinator for Growth and Economic Development, Xavier Orendáin de Obesopointed out that the business sector continues to trust and bet on the state to develop its growth projects.

Despite the signs against investment and the uncertainty generated by the vote on the Electricity Reform, Jalisco is consolidated as the second national place in post-pandemic formal employment generation,” said the state official.

Based on the records of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), during the first quarter of 2022, greater dynamism was observed than in the same period of 2021, when Jalisco employers generated 30,517 jobs.

On a national scale, from January to April of this year, 391,194 formal jobs were generated, of which Jalisco contributes 8.9%; that is, 9 out of every 100 jobs created in the country have been generated in this entity.
