Denis Coderre intends to restore parking on the REV Bellechasse

If he is brought to power on November 7, Denis Coderre intends to maintain the Réseau express Vélo (REV) on rue Saint-Denis, but he will redevelop the one on rue de Bellechasse in order to restore part of the 800 parking spaces that had been deleted.

A Coderre administration would keep the REV of Saint-Denis, but according to Denis Coderre, the site should be secured. “If we undid it all, it would cost $ 12 million. So, with what has been spent excessively on the side of the current administration, we must also respect the capacity of the people, ”he explained.

In the case of rue de Bellechasse, a Coderre administration would carry out a major redevelopment. “It doesn’t look good. Local residents also have the right to have parking, ”said Mr. Coderre, who predicts the closure of businesses if no change is made.

Ensemble Montréal’s plan provides for the status quo for the segment of the track located west of 1ère Avenue and the development of a unidirectional track in its eastern portion in order to re-establish parking spaces.

The leader of Ensemble Montréal criticizes the administration of Projet Montréal in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie for having carried out the REV Bellechasse project without consulting the citizens.

The candidate for mayor of Montreal announced his intentions regarding bike paths while presenting a new candidate for his team in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie. Émilia Diamadopoulou, who will run for a post of city councilor in the Étienne-Desmarteau district.

Further details will follow.
