COVID hospitalizations rise above 1,100 as Quebec reports five more deaths

The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in Quebec has decreased by 36 to 1,116, according to figures from the Health Ministry released Friday.

Of those patients, 31 are in intensive care—an increase of one.

The province announced that five more deaths have been attributed to the virus, bringing the death toll to 15,564.

Additionally, 1,207 more COVID-19 cases have been confirmed through PCR testing at the province’s clinics. That is the highest number since early May. However, insofar as this method of testing is not accessible to most Quebecers, the case tally is not representative of the situation in the province.
