Quebec reported 1,982 new COVID-19 cases and four new deaths on Saturday as the province continues to see an increase in new infections.

However, hospitalizations remained stable, with five fewer people in the hospital for a total of 251. There are now 63 people in intensive care, one more than on Friday.
Quebec’s seven-day moving average for new cases is now 1,550. The province’s positivity rate, that is, the percentage of tests that are positive, is 5.1 percent.
In terms of vaccination, Quebec administered 14,000 first doses to children ages 5 to 11 on Friday and 16,000 third doses to people 70 years and older.
Overall, as of Saturday, 87 percent of eligible Quebecers have received a first dose of the vaccine and 81 percent have received two doses.
