COVID-19 Outbreak Declared at St. Paul Catholic Elementary School in Peterborough – Peterborough | The Canadian News

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at St. Paul Catholic Elementary School in Peterborough, the region’s Catholic school board reported.

in a letter issued to families on Saturday, the school’s principal Natalie Bittner said three additional cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at the school. That has prompted Peterborough Public Health to declare an outbreak.

School outbreaks are declared when two or more laboratory-confirmed cases are found in which at least one of them could have been acquired at school, including transportation and care before and after school, Bittner said.

Bittner says the school remains open. Thorough cleaning and disinfection, frequent hand washing, the use of masks and physical distancing continue.
