Thus, Prince Edward Island (3 cases) has become the latest province to announce, on Tuesday, the imposition of a vaccination passport which will come into force on October 5. Like elsewhere in the country, this passport will be necessary, among other things, to go to restaurants or attend events, said Prime Minister Dennis King.

The day before, New Brunswick had reinstated the wearing of the compulsory mask, which did not prevent the addition of 65 cases to its toll on Tuesday.

Province currently most affected by the virus in the country with Saskatchewan, Alberta, she set up its system of proof of vaccination on Monday, while the province sees its number of new cases multiply, to the point where the number places in intensive care and places in the morgue approaching saturation. The province added 1,519 new infections to its toll on Tuesday.

Saskatchewan has added 369 infections and five deaths to its death toll, numbers down but still very high.

The scenario was similar on the Quebec side, the Belle Province having added 587 contaminations and nine deaths to its balance sheet, numbers on the decline. Moreover, the number of hospitalizations (274, -6) also slightly decreased in the province, including in intensive care (86, -6).

British Columbia, for its part, has recorded 525 new COVID-19 infections and one death.

Ontario, for its part, continues to perform well with only 576 cases and eight deaths, figures in line with those posted in Quebec, but with a population twice as high.
