Covid-19 in Mexico: SSA reports 48 new deaths

The Ministry of Health reported this Sunday that the number of deaths from Covid-19 In the country it amounted to 295,202 deaths, after 48 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

The health authorities estimate that in Mexico there are around 20,067 active cases, that is, people who have presented symptoms of the new coronavirus in the last 14 days.

The federal agency detailed that 3 million 257,676 people have recovered after suffering the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Regarding the hospital capacity for the care of patients with Covid-19, the occupation of general beds is 15%, one percentage point less than that reported yesterday. While the occupancy of beds with a fan remains at 13 percent.

Vaccination against Covid-19 in Mexico

The Ministry of Health reported that 277,261 vaccines against Covid-19 were applied to the cutoff on Saturday, November 4, to register a total of 134 million, 370,326 doses supplied nationwide since the vaccination plan began on December 24, 2021.

Of the 78 million 268,776 people inoculated against the coronavirus in Mexico, 65 million 422,436 already have the complete one or two dose vaccination scheme; and 12 million 846,340 people have half a scheme.

It should be remembered that last week the government of Mexico City began with vaccination for people between 15 and 17 years of age. Meanwhile, the government of the State of Mexico announced yesterday that from December 6 to 10, this sector of the population will be vaccinated with the first dose.

On Saturday, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador commented that next Tuesday, December 7, the plan will be presented to start with the application of the booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine for adults over 65 years of age and over.




“It is very likely that we will start with the booster vaccine for older adults as of next Tuesday. All this for the winter, because always, with a pandemic or without a pandemic, in the winter older people suffer more,” he said during his visit to Michoacan.

“We have a meeting because the Ministry of Health has already prepared a plan, they are working on that, (…) we have a meeting on Monday to define the plan and on Tuesday that is dedicated to health, although we will be in Guadalajara is going to be known there, “López Obrador explained.
