Vancouver Mayor Kennedy Stewart said all city workers will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses) by December 6, 2021 or they will not be allowed to enter the workplace.

The city of Vancouver has a 90 percent vaccination rate for those 12 and older, compared to 83.4 percent in the province.
“Having all city personnel fully vaccinated by December 6 is another step toward building our success as a community and making sure we put the health of our workers and the public first.”
The City of Vancouver has around 8,000 full and part-time employees and is the first municipality in British Columbia to place such an order.

City Manager Paul Mochrie said the vaccination policy will provide exemptions for people with a “protected legal basis,” such as for medical or other reasons under the British Columbia Human Rights Code.
