Covid-19 3.0 permit: how to process my disability at the IMSS due to coronavirus?

The General Director of Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo Aburtoannounced the relaunch of the Covid-19 permit, which they called Covid-19 3.0 permit, this in order to benefit the eligible workers and in the face of the increase in coronavirus infections and the risk that the Omicron variant means.

The Covid Permit is a temporary disability procedure and this new modality will allow the automation of said process through the application IMSS Digital and the Social Security website.

This online procedure is more flexible and is no longer subject to the epidemiological traffic light and without the need to visit the IMSS medical services, reported Robledo Aburto.

The duration of the disability leave, for people who request it, is up to 7 days for beneficiaries with symptoms and 5 days for asymptomatic people who have a positive coronavirus test.

“The worker is protected, processing times are reduced, chains of contagion are broken and most importantly, we will continue to show that we trust the word of our right holders,” said Zoé Robledo in a video posted on her Twitter account.

He assured that since the implementation of the Covid-19 Permit, transfers have been reduced and the collection of disability and subsidies for this concept was facilitated, “they were deposited directly into the bank account of the interested parties and those who carried out their procedures,” and added that with The online permit, as of December 31, 2021, close to 200,000 Covid-19 permits were granted in the IMSS, which is equivalent to 352 million pesos in subsidies.
