Couple Arrested After University of Guelph Campus Bicycle Theft | The Canadian News

Guelph police say a couple have been arrested in connection with a series of bicycle thefts on the University of Guelph campus during the first weeks of the school year.

They say seven bicycles were stolen from the school campus from mid-September to early November.

In each case, someone cut the locks on the bikes before leaving with them, and the thefts were caught on surveillance video.

Guelph police say an investigation was conducted in conjunction with campus police, leading them to identify the suspects before arresting them in downtown Guelph on Tuesday.

A 38-year-old Guelph man and a 35-year-old woman have been charged with multiple counts of theft of less than $ 5,000 and possession of theft instruments.
