US Marshals, ALEA and the FBI are now involved in the manhunt. Neither Vicki White nor Casey White have been seen since yesterday. The two are said to be unrelated.

Casey White is accused of murdering Connie Ridgeway in 2015.

Connie Ridgeway’s son said he doesn’t believe his mother’s alleged killer is on the loose.

“I’m surprised. I mean, how could someone with that rap sheet get off so easily,” Austin Williams said.

For more than 24 hours, the alleged killer of Williams’ mother has been on the run.

“I’m not that worried about us, but anyone who gets in their way, they’re a violent, dangerous, dangerous person,” Williams said.

The district attorney’s office in Lauderdale County contacted Williams and her brother on Friday and told them that Casey White and Vicki White were nowhere to be found.

“To know that he had hours and hours to do whatever they were going to do, it’s going to be hard to find,” Williams said of Casey White.

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office said Friday morning that Vicky White took inmate Casey White in for a “mental health evaluation.”

A timeline provided by the sheriff’s office shows the two left around 9:40 a.m. and have not been seen since.

Security video shows they never made it to the courthouse and, according to the sheriff’s office, no evaluation or court appearance was scheduled.

Vicki White’s squad car was later found by police at the Florence Square Mall.

“Well, that sounds really bad, doesn’t it,” Williams said. “We don’t know if that person was helping him escape, but it sounds bad.”

The sheriff’s office said they believe Vicki White helped Casey White escape, but are trying to determine if she did so voluntarily.

Although for Williams, the timeline and events immediately raised questions.

“I heard that they had to take him in a transport truck, they had to chain him to a truck, a person should not leave there even in a patrol car, that is not even how it should happen. Williams said.

Williams also believed that her mother’s accused killer was serving time in Tuscaloosa, not Lauderdale County.

“The last time we were in court for his arraignment, they sent him back to Tuscaloosa,” Williams said. “He wanted to stay in Lauderdale County but he tried to get away from that moment, I just wonder what’s going on there, why he wasn’t in state prison and how someone like him can get a mental health evaluation and be like that.” easy.”

These events bring up a haunting memory for Williams.

“He claims he was hired,” Williams said. “Looks like she was in the wrong place at the wrong time, this person Casey may have been taking something, she’s a violent person.”

For Williams and her family, that story from 2015 doesn’t add up.

“She was everyone’s friend, very friendly, kind and went out of her way to help people,” Williams said.

And as the search for an accused killer continues, Williams prays no one else gets a call like the one he once did.

“I just hope and pray that they catch him,” Williams said.

Casey White’s trial for allegedly killing Connie Ridgeway is scheduled to begin June 13.

Williams hopes law enforcement can locate Casey White in time so his family can learn more about Ridgeway’s death.
