Conasami agrees to increase the minimum wage by 22%; will go to 172.87 pesos per day

The Council of Representatives of the National Minimum Wages Commission (Conasami) lists the salary increase for next year, which will be 22% for the country, so it will go from 141.70 to 172.87 pesos a day.

The unanimous agreement of the sectors, worker and employer, establishes that in the North Border Free Zone will go from 213.39 pesos to 260.34 pesos, also applying 22%, in the same way that will be applied to the professional minimum wage, just to avoid a lag compared to minimum wages.

The Conasami maintains its application of Economic Recovery Amount (MIR) to achieve such an increase that is in line with the federal government’s salary recovery proposal.

Thus, the composition of 22% is due to the fact that, in the case of minimum wages in the Rest of the Country, 16.90 pesos will be applied and an increase of 9% for fixing; on the North border in the MIR it is 25.45 pesos and an increase for fixation of 9 percent.

Currently the minimum wage is at 141.70 pesos per day, while in the North Border Free Zone It is located at 213.39 pesos.

According to data from the Conasami from 2018 to 2021 the minimum wage has increased 60.4%, going from 88.36 to 141.70 pesos per day in the “Rest of the country” area; while in the area “North Border Free Zone”The increase has been 141.5% to reach 213.39 pesos per day.
