Companies from Querétaro, with negligible profits: Coparmex

Querétaro, Qro. This year some companies had losses and damages that will generate losses in the distribution of profits, said the president of the Business Center in Queretaro of the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex), Jorge Camacho Ortega.

According to the employer, some companies will not be able to provide profits, while in other cases they will be scarce, estimating that 50% of the companies will not be able to pay profits to their workers.

“There will be few (profits), because the truth is that companies were very hit, so many had losses. Therefore, the distribution of profits for this end of the year, to give them the following (in 2022), will not be like other years, they will be less. Certainly some will not be able to. I can say that half are not going to make a profit ”, he declared.

Even, he said, the profits paid could be lower than those disbursed this year and that correspond to the productivity of 2020, because in that year, despite the effects of the pandemic, companies had the profits generated in 2019, before the health contingency. However, for the year 2022, the effects that companies suffered in 2021 will be reflected.

“I think it will be less (profits than in 2020) because there were still reservations in 2020, but by 2021 there were no longer reservations in the companies. So half I don’t think they have profits (…) If there are no profits, there is nothing to distribute ”, he asserted.

According to Tax Administration Service (SAT) if you are a permanent or temporary worker, you have the right to distribute the profits generated by the companies; Therefore, the employer is obliged to pay them from April 1 to May 30 if it is a company, and from May 1 to June 29 if the employer is a natural person. If you do not receive this benefit, you can turn to the Labor Defense Attorney (Profedet) for advice.

Even for the payment of the Christmas bonus, companies face complications to cover this benefit, for which he estimated that at least 15% would have resorted to debt to pay off this payment, said the local leader of Coparmex.

In relation to the payment of profits, the State Secretary of Labor (ST), Liliana San Martín Castillo, stated that the agency made an approach with chambers and employers so that they comply with the labor provision of the bonus, whenever this December 20 was the deadline to pay the Christmas bonus.

In the event that a worker has not received his bonus, he can go to the Inspection Unit of the state ST or even make an anonymous complaint, so that his case can be investigated.
