City runs ‘micro-clinics’ in Toronto in #DaysofVaxtion campaign

Saturday marks Toronto’s most important day of its #DaysofVaxtion campaign, an effort to help the city reach its 90% COVID-19 vaccination goal.

With more than twenty clinics operating around the clock, residents can get hit at pop-ups along Yonge St., four shopping malls in Scarborough, three public schools, or even three subway stations across the city.

The four-day campaign officially began Thursday and has helped deliver 1,839 vaccines, according to a city ​​launch. A total of 92 clinics will run during the duration of the #DaysofVaxtion.

Mayor John Tory and Toronto Board of Health President Joe Cressy visited an immunization clinic held in Olive Square Park on Saturday, where Tory was able to thank those who worked as well as those who actually received the vaccine.

“Thank you to everyone who worked at our Days of Vaxtion clinics across the city this weekend. We are seeing steady progress at these 92 clinics, ”said Tory. said.

“If you haven’t received your first or second dose yet, visit any of the Days of Vaxtion clinics today or tomorrow and get vaccinated.”

There are signs at the Islington tube station.  The City is getting a big boost with smaller pop-up vaccine clinics this weekend.

A data-driven approach was used to choose the location of each “microclinic” to ensure that it could bring vaccines to neighborhoods with low coverage or those at high risk of contracting the virus.

The campaign will come to an end on Sunday after four more clinics run throughout the day, including one at Kensington Market.

Since the start of the city’s initial vaccination efforts, a total of 4,657,060 injections have been administered through Thursday.
