Regina businesses and nonprofits are encouraged to create activities that engage the public during the winter months.

The City of Regina is offering the Winter Initiatives Grant to support the city’s recently approved winter city strategy. This is based on last year’s grant offered by the city for winter activities.

For the winter of 2021-22, the grant aims to improve the surroundings of Queen City with the inclusion and accessibility of the community in mind.

Up to $ 50,000 in funding is being committed as part of the grant to “help make Regina’s winter vision a reality.” Funding requests will range from $ 500 to a maximum of $ 5,000.

“We encourage local Regina businesses and nonprofits to be creative and help us make Regina THE destination for winter,” said Diana Hawryluk, City Executive Director for City Planning and Development. community.

Depending on the city, the grant can support a number of projects and activities, including community events, lighting installations, or decorating contests.

However, a key requirement is that the funds must be used for initiatives that occur between December 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022.

Applications will be accepted until October 15.
