There are a few ways to celebrate the often misunderstood Mexican celebration of Fifth of May Thursday.
Fill your plate with free tacos, burrito deals, specialty margaritas, free delivery, and even some pizza discounts.
Cinco de Mayo recognizes the Mexican army’s victory over France in 1862, but is not considered a Mexican federal holiday. Nor is it Mexico’s Independence Day, which is celebrated on September 16.
According to a consumer survey conducted by Numerator, 44% of American consumers plan to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and 67% expect inflation and product shortages to affect your plans. The survey also found that 42% of consumers expect the pandemic to affect plans, up from 78% in 2021.
