Chilean Arauco will invest 3,000 million dollars in a pulp mill in Brazil

the forester Chilean Arauco announced on Wednesday that it will invest 3,000 million dollars in the construction of a pulp mill in Mato Grosso do Sul with a capacity of 2.5 million tons per year and expected to start production in the first quarter of 2028.

The company said in a statement that it had signed a “potential investment agreement” with the government of Mato Grosso do Sul. The expectation is that the works of the factory begin in 2025.

The mill will have the capacity to produce half of Arauco’s current global installed pulp capacity, equivalent to 5.2 million tons.
