Checo Pérez will be the tourist ambassador of Jalisco


Guadalajara, Jalisco. The Formula 1 (F1) driver from Guadalajara, Sergio “Checo” Perezwas appointed “Ambassador of Jalisco” with the intention that he promote both nationally and internationally the tourist attractions of the land that saw him born.

Although it did not reveal the amount of the investment that the government of Jalisco will make in this agreement, the head of the Secretary of Tourism of Jalisco (Secturjal), Vanessa Pérez Lamas, reported that the Guadalajara pilot will position itself in the global tourism market the brand “Jalisco is Mexico”as well as the destination brands of Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta and Costalegre, which will be printed on the official competition helmet in the 23 Grand Prix comprising the 2022 F1 season.

According to the official, Jalisco will be exposed to an average audience of 87.4 million people for each Grand Prix; that is, around 2,000 million people worldwide during all of 2022.

“This agreement underpins the path of growth and marks Jalisco’s path to resume the internationalization agenda that, together with the productive, social and government sectors, we are promoting,” said the coordinator of the economic cabinet, Xavier Orendáin.

The agreement also includes promotional campaigns for tourist destinations in the state, including the Magical Towns and iconic sites of Jalisco, as well as mentions in the social networks of the pilot from Guadalajara.
