CDMX presents tax benefits for 2022; discounts on property, tenure and water payments

The Secretariat of Administration and Finance (SAF) of the Mexico City announced the tax benefits for 2022, among which are discounts for the payments of the building and the water, as well as the tenure.

According to the local agency, for January an 8% discount is being given to those who make the advance payment of the building, while in February it is 5 percent.

At the same time, for vulnerable groups (such as the elderly without a fixed income and with limited resources, as well as single mothers, retired widows and orphans, retirees due to work and disability risks and surviving spouses of the owner) will be offered fixed quotas and discounts on payment.

For example, there will be a bimonthly fixed fee payment of 55 pesos when the property for residential use does not exceed the amount of 2.3 million pesos, “for properties that exceed this amount, a 30% discount will be granted.”

For the payment of water service, the Capital Administration and Finance Secretariat detailed that a 50% reduction of the bimonthly quota will be applied to property owners belonging to vulnerable groups.

“Likewise, once the payment corresponding to the endorsement has been covered, which according to article 219 of the Mexico City Tax Code for 2022 is 628 pesos, a 100% discount on vehicle ownership will be granted (… ) This benefit is for individuals and legal entities ”, deepened the local agency.

The tax benefit is for cars whose value does not exceed 250,000 pesos (VAT included and once the depreciation factor has been applied).

Precisely, the Ministry of Administration and Finance remarked, the validity for this support is from January 1 to March 31, 2022 and there should not be any debts from previous years.

You must also have the Circulation Card (with a valid chip), or make the payment corresponding to the renewal.

Rights payment

The Secretariat of Administration and Finance of Mexico City reported that payments of local taxes can be made with participating credit cards, with the promotion of months without interest, in more than 8,600 centers (treasury kiosks, banks, stores of convenience, as well as department stores).

“Payment can also be made through the CDMX Treasury mobile application or on the SAF website,” he explained.
