CCE Puebla urges local authorities to maintain fiscal support

Puebla, Pue. In order to streamline the recovery of companies and the economic reactivation of the state, which will take place in 2022, the local government should maintain fiscal support, even if it is not 100%, considered the Business Coordinating Council (CCE).

Ignacio Alarcón Rodríguez Pacheco, president of the local body, pointed out that the services sector in which tourism is immersed is having a hard time getting ahead, unlike the manufacturing companies they have gradually increased production.

He indicated that although Puebla and the country in general are taking firm steps in the economic recovery, it is also important that the government collaborates in maintaining fiscal incentives in the Payroll tax (ISN) and Lodging, as well as in the collection of other services.

In April 2021, the state government presented a Economic Reactivation Plan, with which it offered 100% support to micro companies, a 50% discount to small businesses and large companies the option of deferring the tax.

From the Lodging Tax, taxpayers were released from the payment to boost the sector as soon as it is reactivated, applicable from April to December.

Alarcón Rodríguez commented that the economic recovery will be slow if the activities, in the case of the Automotive industry which is one of the pillars of employment and development in Puebla, does not return to its pre-pandemic levels of production, since this year they have been presenting technical stoppages by the supply shortage.

He reiterated that leaving the contingency will depend on the role that society assumes in respecting the sanitary measures and vaccines, to reduce infections.

However, the CCE leader from Puebla acknowledged that the priority of businessmen, at least in the first half of 2022, is to take care of their economy and jobs.

“At this stage of the pandemic, with a view to 2022, companies must prepare with projects or ideas to face the new times or else an advantage will be lost,” he emphasized.
