Bell Reports Decrease in Operating Income and Postpaid Gross Additions in Q2 Due to COVID-19

Montreal-based national operator Bell had 21,632 postpaid net wireless adds in the second quarter of 2020 and exceeded 10 million total wireless subscribers. In its earnings report released August 6, the operator also reported 13,070 prepaid net wireless additions. At the end of the period, the operator had a total of 10,012,259 wireless subscribers, which is made up of 9,205,222 postpaid and 807,037 prepaid wireless subscribers. "Overall market activity was impacted by retail channel closures and fewer promotional offers due to COVID-19, resulting in a 35.2 percent decline in Q2 postpaid gross adds," notes the airline in your report. Telus Reports $ 3.73 Billion Second Quarter Revenue, 61,000 Mobile Phone Additions

Vancouver-based Telus launched its Second Quarter 2020 Earnings on July 31 with 61,000 net mobile phone additions. The company's revenue reached $ 3.73 billion, an increase of 3.6 percent year-over-year. Telus says the 61,000 additions were "high quality", made up entirely of "higher value postpaid customers." However, the number marks a decrease of 21,000. The company reported 94,000 total net wireless additions compared to 154,000 in the prior year. Amazon beat Wall Street expectations by nearly $ 8 billion in second-quarter earnings

Amazon shares rose in extended trading after the company beat Wall Street estimates for second-quarter revenue in earnings released on July 30. The e-commerce giant saw revenue rise to $ 88.91 billion from $ 63.4 billion in the second quarter, which ended on June 20. Rogers reports 17 percent decrease in total revenue in Q2 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic

Toronto-based national carrier Rogers had 1,000 postpaid wireless net losses in the second quarter of 2020, and now has a total of 9,431,000 postpaid subscribers. In its earnings report released on July 22nd, the carrier says that its wireless results reflect the full quarter impact of the COVID-19 pandemic economic shutdown, and that its postpaid subscribers were “flat” since majority of retail locations remained closed. Rogers also reports 216,000 postpaid gross additions in Q2 2020. In terms of prepaid subscribers, the company said it had 66,000 net losses and 119,000 gross additions, totalling to 1,270,000 prepaid subscribers.
