Online sales on track to hit record highs in Canada amid pandemic: report

Online retail sales are on track to hit record levels in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Statistics Canada. The agency notes that measures aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19 have significantly affected the way consumers make retail purchases. "Statistics Canada previously reported that retail e-commerce sales more than doubled from February to May 2020, to a record high of nearly $ 4 billion in May," the report states.
